“Prince” or “prince”???

“Prince” or “prince”???     — Which One is Right???

Daniel 9:24-27

24 “Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”  (1769 King James Version)

Who is the “Prince”? …and, Who is the “prince”??  … and, Who is “he” that “confirms the covenant”???

Are they all the SAME Person???  What could possibly go wrong if one interprets “prince” incorrectly???

Today, the vast majority of modern “Evangelical” authors, teachers, pastors, etc., have incorrectly interpreted, and taught, that the “prince” (in Daniel 9:26) is “the Antichrist”…

…And sadly, even the majority of our supposedly, “KJV-only” authors, teachers, and pastors have followed these modern evangelicals to the same conclusion— parroting what they’ve read in the commentaries of other men.

“The ‘prince that shall come’ is the antichrist. Notice that the ‘Prince’ identified as the Messiah is capitalized in the King James Bible, indicating a reference to the Lord. ‘The prince that shall come’ is spelled with a lower case ‘p’. The two are not the same.” – Dennis Corle [1]

However, the King James Bible translators did NOT interpret Daniel 9:26-27 as if it is referring to “the Antichrist”!  In fact, the original AV 1611 edition did NOT have a lower case “p” in Daniel 9:26!!!  (NOTE: this little known FACT is not a problem for a “Post-Trib” theology— but, it is a HUGE problem for the Pre-Tribbers!)

It is a BIG problem if one misinterprets Christ, as “the Antichrist”!  Can it get any worse than that???
